Here in New South Wales we have some of the weakest animal protection laws in the country.
Most people who abuse and harm animals get off with just a slap on the wrist and are able to continue to torture and harm animals in our neighbourhoods and communities again.

Like you, I love animals and believe they should be able to live their lives safe from neglect, cruelty and abuse. That’s why I am fighting for strong laws that protect animals including:
- Recognising animals as sentient beings who can be victims of crime
- Introducing psychological assessment for people charged with serious animal cruelty offences
- Removing gun licenses from anyone found guilty of animal cruelty
- Increasing penalties to deter future acts of animal abuse
