Petition: Urgent need for child sexual abuse reforms

A young child seen from behind walking through an open field, carrying a small teddy bear backpack.

We are facing a child abuse crisis in Australia.

Research reveals a disturbing proportion of Australian men admit to harmful sexual attitudes or behaviours toward children. Online child exploitation reports almost doubled last year, and Australia has become one of the largest sources of payments linked to child sexual abuse in the Philippines.

Men who livestream child abuse are also far more likely to view animal sexual abuse.

Our laws are failing the most vulnerable members of our society.

We urgently need tougher penalties for abusers, stronger institutional and corporate accountability, increased access to survivor compensation, and proper funding for law enforcement, prevention, and survivor support.

By signing this petition, you are calling on the NSW Government to prioritise child protection in the upcoming Budget and law reform agenda.
