The legislation to protect animals hasn't been significantly updated for 46 years. Despite promises from the NSW Government to update the legislation, it remains on the to do list.

Recently, A Current Affair exposed a case of a dog left on a balcony for most of his days - there is little the authorities can do given our law focuses on very basic needs for animals such as food and water.
Until the Government acts to update these extremely outdated laws, animals will continue to suffer in situations like this.
By signing this petition, we are calling on the NSW Agriculture Minister to urgently review these outdated laws and ensure the legislation meets community expectations on animal protection.
