Experimenters are forcing frightened animals to swim for their lives in inescapable cylinders and causing animals to asphyxiate with forced inhalation of toxic cigarette smoke. While they sound like experiments from the dark ages - these experiments are happening right now in Australia.

SIGN THE PETITION BELOW TO OUTLAW THESE EXPERIMENTS

The Animal Justice Party has obtained hidden Government documents that reveal ‘near drowning’ experiments and smoke inhalation studies are still legal in Australia.

In forced swim tests, or ‘near drowning’ experiments, animals are dropped into beakers of water while the experimenters watch the animal desperately struggle to stay above water to survive. Animals are terrified during the procedure and are at risk of drowning.

Smoke inhalation studies often completely confine animals in tiny plastic tubes where they have cigarette smoke pressure pumped into their nostrils. Animals can experience hypothermia or die from suffocation.

These experiments are cruel, unnecessary and unscientific. They should be banned immediately.

By signing the petition below, you’ll be calling on the NSW Government to protect animals from smoke inhalation tests and forced swim test experiments by making them illegal.
